Old Man Looking at His Teeth on the Mirror — Burleigh Denture Clinic in Burleigh Heads, QLD

At Burleigh Denture Clinic, our licensed prosthetist can provide custom made dentures for that aim to increase comfort, fit and appearance. We can provide all patients on the Gold Coast with durable and comfortable dentures made with materials such as the Schottlander Enigma system.

We understand the physical and emotional damage that can be caused by teeth loss. It can cause lowered self esteem, as well as create challenges to every day activities such as eating and speaking. Enigma teeth are designed to replicate natural teeth not just through appearance, but also functionality.

If you require a full denture, our dentures are made with a high impact acrylic base to ensure durability. We can create an impression of your teeth before and after your teeth extraction to create the most natural looking teeth. The Schottlander Enigma system has a wide range of shapes and sizes, designed to produce life like teeth for a natural appearance. The denture is then fully contoured with the gums stained and coloured to look like real gum. You can also choose to have your new dentures with a metal cobalt chromium framework for added strength and durability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What material is used to make dentures?

Most dentures are made from acrylic as it can be molded into any shape, and is often more comfortable for the patient.

  • What metal is used in dentures?

Denture frameworks and clasps are often made from chrome cobalt as it is an incredibly strong material. A metal framework is required as it must support the denture structure, and withstand the pressure from chewing.

  • Can dentures look like real teeth?

Dentures are made to look and function like your natural teeth. This is achieved by different teeth shapes and sizes, as well as colouring of the teeth and gums.

  • How does dentures stay in place?

Partial dentures have a metal clasp that clips around your teeth for a secure fit.

Partial dentures can be made from flexible material that can create suction to your

gums. You can also choose to have implant retained dentures to ensure a

permanent fit. Full dentures are fitted by suction.

  • What’s the best material for dentures?

Porcelain used to be the most common material used for dentures, but it was unable to absorb the chewing force due to the heavy weight of porcelain. Acrylic dentures are preferred because they are lighter, and can relay less pressure on gums and bone tissue resulting in a more comfortable fit.
